6-year/75,000 mile Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty that provides coverage for six years from the original Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty start date and up to a total of 75,000 miles on the odometer, whichever comes first (includes parts and labor).

*If still in effect, the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers the vehicle for 3-years/36,000 miles from the original Ford Warranty date.  At the end of this original New Vehicle Limited Warranty, the Powertrain Limited Warranty begins for a total of six years from the original Ford start date or 75,000 miles on the odometer, whichever comes first.

A First Rate Warranty

Your Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty includes other services and features for six years from the original Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty start date or up to 75,000 miles on the on the odometer, whichever comes first, such as:

Component protection. Covers 29 critical powertrain components.

Low deductible. Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned vehicles have a $100 standard deductible.

24-hour roadside assistance.  Services are provided by the Ford Auto Club and include:

  • Flat tire change
  • Battery jump-starts
  • Towing assistance up to $100
  • Travel expense reimbursement up to $500 for up to three days' lodging, meals and rental vehicle for travel expenses accrued when the breakdown occurs more than 100 miles from home
  • Destination assistance covers taxi, shuttle or rental car expense up to $75 for emergency transportation to the immediate destination


Rental car reimbursement
.  If your vehicle is inoperative and must be kept overnight for a covered repair, including recalls or Owner Notification programs involving a Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty covered component, you will be reimbursed up to $28 per day for up to five days.

Backed by Ford.  Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty is backed by Ford Motor Company or Ford Motor Service Company and honored at any Ford dealer in the 50 states and Canada.

Warranty stays with the vehicle.  If you sell your Pre-owned vehicle, the remaining Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage remains in effect for the new owner.


You can depend on us

No one knows Ford vehicles better than our specially trained Sales and service Department personnel.  Before vehicles are officially Certified, they must pass a 115-point inspection carried out by individual Ford dealers.

The 115-point inspection examines the following:

 

Vehicle History. VINS match on vehicle and paperwork, service bulletins and recalls checked, scheduled maintenance performed.
Road Test.  Engine, transmission/transaxle, steering and suspension, brakes/ABS, accessories
Vehicle exterior.  Body panels and bumpers, doors, hood, deck, lid, tailgate, grill, trim and roof rack, glass, outside mirros, wipers, exterior lights
Vehicle interior.  Air bag and safety belts, audio and alarm systems, heat/vent/AC/defog/defrost, interior amenities, carpet, trim, mats, seats, moonroof, covertible top, windows, door locks
Luggage compartment.  Carpet, trim, cargo net, light, weather-stripping, spare tire and jack
Underhood.  Engine control system, fluids, engine, cooling system, fuel system, electrical system
Underbody.  Frame, exhaust system, transmission, transaxle, differential, transfer case, tires and wheels, suspension/steering, brakes


Fast facts about your Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty

Your Ford dealer will repair, replace or adjust all covered components that are found to be defective in factory-supplied materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period
The owner must pay a $100 deductible per repair visit for covered repairs
Damage and items not covered under Ford Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty
In addition to mechanical breakdowns, failure of covered components due to abnormal wear resulting from defective materials or workmanship are included
It is your responsibility to make sure that all of the scheduled maintenance in performed and that the materials used meet Ford engineering specifications.  Failure to perform scheduled maintenance as specified in the Service Guide will invalidate Warranty coverage on parts affected by the lack of maintenance.  Make sure that receipts for completed maintenance work are retained with the vehicle and confirmation of maintenance work is always entered in your Scheduled Maintenance Guide.
All Warranty repairs of covered components MUST be made with service parts or remanufactured parts authorized by Ford Motor Company, at an authorized Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealership
Ford recommends that you return to your selling dealership for repair of a covered component

  • Repairs covered by the Ford New Vehicle LImited Warranty or recalls
  • Repairs needed to any engine, transmission or final drive components caused by an aftermarket installed turbocharger/supercharger
  • Repairs caused by damage or unreasonable use (damage from road hazards; accident; fire or other casualty; misuse; negligence; racing; failure caused by modifications or parts not authorized or supplied by Ford)
  • Damage from the environment (airborne fallout, acts of war, chemicals, tree sap, salt, hail, windstorm, lightning, road hazards, etc.)
  • Repairs needed to a covered part caused by the failure of a non-covered part.
  • To the extent allowed by law, loss of use of vehicle including loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss, consequential damages, and personal expenses such as motels, food, gas and mileage
  • Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty will not be valid if the New Vehicle Limited Warranty has been voided or the vehicle has been totaled or salvaged.



This is intended to provide general information about the Ford Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty.  Please see Landmark Ford for details or refer to your plan provisions.  Valid only in the 50 states and Canada.  Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty is in addition to any remaining New Vehcile Limited Warranty coverage.  Repairs needed to any engine, transmission and final drive components caused by or resulting from a defect in a non-Ford component such as an aftermarket installed turbocharger are not covered.  In some cases, the use of Ford authorized remanufactured parts is required after the expiration of the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty and the Quality Checked Powertrain Limited Warranty.  See Landmark Ford for complete details on the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
